21 how-tos for a Happy Marriage – 27 Years

August 30th is our 27th anniversary. I decided to write my take on our happy marriage. Here are 21 tips that make us –  HAPPY. I think it’s something to be celebrated. Is there such a thing as a perfect marriage? Not sure. I do know that I have a happy marriage. Here’s how. 
  1. Laughter is the Best Medicine: This is number one because I need a good laugh. Our conversations are embedded with movie quotes. My favorite is when he quotes John Travolta in Grease. Or was it Saturday Night Fever? Whatcha want for dinner, hun? He replies, “Gee, Idaknow.” 🙂
  2. Love Language – Physical Touch
  3. The Most Chill Husband Award goes to ‘Aaron’:  Nothing surprises this guy.
  4. Great Communication and Conversation: We can talk about anything and everything. This is so important. When I’m in a funk, he’s there to get me out of it, and vice versa.
  5. Opposites attract: It’s a funny thing. He likes red sauce, like white sauce. I like mystery books; he likes fantasy. He enjoys staying home; I want to find any reason to get a plane. 
  6. Shared Faith: Our faith in each other, inhumanity, and goodness that prevails are tremendous.
  7. Dedicated: To his family, job, and the USA.
  8. SmIntelligentan: I’m grateful to have a helpful ‘honey-do’ husband and a live-in master IT technical support manager. And he knows cars and how to fix almost anything. And he does the dishes.
  9. A Father Knows Best: Although the two girls are adults, Aaron is a great dad. I hope they realize that someday.
  10. Strong American Values of Patriotism: As I type this out, he puts on a shirt with an American Flag 🙂
  11. Commitment & Loyalty: Through all our challenges and setbacks h, he has been unwavering.
  12. Worthy Chef: He can make a delicious steak on the grill or a crockpot roast.
  13. Stamp of Approval: You passed the test if my dad likes you.
  14. Dog Lover 🙂
  15. Aging Gracefully: At 50 years old h, he’s handling the gray hairs and aching knees as well as can be. 
  16. Gamers: Belove playing Hidden Object Puzzle games together. Besides playing fun and intense board games(Big Fish Games – Mystery Case Files), So fun!
  17. World Traveler: Whenever we plan a big trip h, he’s all in. There is no one that I would rainsteadander the globe with than my husband.
  18. Protective & Supportive: I feel safe with him. And he tolerates my mania.
  19. Healthiness: Taking charge of health so you don’t have to ask for a seatbelt extension on airplanes.
  20. Sacrifice: It takes a powerful, influential person to sacrifice their time, money, and resources for another person. 
  21. Optimism: The Best Is Yet To Come
